Criminal prosecution and legal counsel for Hamilton County government.
The State’s Attorney represents Hamilton County in civil matters and prosecutes all criminal cases. The State’s Attorney cannot take on private cases, wills, probate, custody, small claims, family cases, or any other private legal work. Cases come to this office after police contact.
Most criminal court dates are scheduled on Thursdays. Any court date that needs to be rescheduled must be changed in advance, by phone or in person.
The office is closed from 12–1 for lunch — please call ahead to confirm availability.
